The Sea & She
I will be traveling during the summer of 2025 to three unique and beautiful parts of the world where women hold social, economic, and political capital by way of their connection to the seas:
The Salish Sea, Washington State, USA
Jeju Island, South Korea
Zanzibar Island, Tanzania
I will write about the role the sea plays in the lives of women and girls between and across the waves, based on personal experiences, interviews with local women, and research of each region's distinct, rich cultural histories.
